Medicals - CASA, Dive & Other
In order for a pilot or Air Traffic Controller to exercise the privileges of their license, they must hold a current Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) medical certificate.
Illawarra Medical Centre is able to provide CASA Medicals through Dr Kelvin Balakrishnan, a qualified fixed wing pilot who holds a commercial helicopter pilot licence and is specialised in the field of Aviation Medicine.

Scuba diving is an activity that involves some level of risk, particularly for those with certain medical conditions that can make the risk of death while diving much higher.
Australia has one of the strictest levels of regulation, requirements and medical standards for diving in the world and in order to dive in Australia, many dive operators require a Dive Medical assessment to have been undertaken by a qualified physician, in accordance with Australian Standard AS4005-1.
